The 200-Hour Chakra Yoga Teacher Training is Yoga Alliance Registered (200 YTT), alongside the Sarasvati Institute's existing 300 RYT and the IAYT-Accredited Yoga Therapy Training Program.

WHO THIS TRAINING IS FOR

For the Ayurvedic student.

Where most 200-hour trainings emphasize asana sequencing for a fitness audience, this one is built around the chakra system, the 8 limbs of yoga, and the integration of yoga with Ayurvedic principles.

Current Yoga Practitioners

You already have a yoga practice and want to teach from a deeper philosophical and energetic base than most 200-hour trainings offer.

Aspiring Yoga Teachers

You want a Yoga Alliance 200 RYT credential, taught in the lineage way, with the chakra system and the 8 limbs of yoga at the center.

Ayurvedic Students

You are studying or already credentialed in Ayurveda, and want a yoga training that integrates with that study instead of running alongside it.

Foundations Graduates

You completed the 300-hour Foundations program and want to add a Yoga Alliance teaching credential to your Ayurvedic Wellness Advisor practice.

WHY AYURVEDA AND YOGA, TOGETHER

The way the lineage teaches it.

The reason Susan teaches Ayurveda and Yoga together in the traditional way is that is how we set the stage for deep cellular integration of these ancient sacred sciences. This deep cellular integration allows you to awaken the Ayurveda and Yoga that is already within you. From that place you have access to the universal knowledge of the Vedas.

THE STRUCTURE

Built around the seven chakras.

The 200-Hour Chakra Yoga Teacher Training is built around the chakra system. We spend a weekend on each chakra to purify and balance it before moving onto the next. This is a powerful and transformational initiation process.

PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDA · ON WHY HE PRACTICED YOGA

It is through the systematic purification of the chakras that someone progresses spiritually. That purification comes through study of ancient texts, through self-study, and through daily practice.

SUSAN ON THE PRACTICE

Devote yourself to the practice and let it transform you.

The process is to devote yourself to the practice and let it transform you. Then you will embody the knowledge, and only at that point is someone ready to teach something. This is not Susan's rule but the rules of the lineage she teaches and, in her opinion, a universal law.

Yoga is one of the Shad Darshan, the Six Systems of Philosophy that originated from the Vedic Texts for the purpose of helping people achieve Moksha, liberation from the wheel of karma, through daily practice. Yoga is the science of meditation, the science of Union, which is really about learning how to calm the fluctuations of the mind and fully connect to The Source.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you apply.

What is the 200-Hour Chakra Yoga Teacher Training?

A Yoga Alliance Registered 200-hour yoga teacher training built around the chakra system and the 8 limbs of yoga, designed for the Ayurvedic student. 10 two-day weekends across 12 months.

Is this 200-hour the same as the 800-hour Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist program?

No. The 200-hour is a Yoga Alliance RYT credential; the 800-hour Advanced is the clinical certification path that qualifies graduates to sit for the NAMA Ayurvedic Health Counselor and IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist board exams. Different credentials, different scope of practice. Many students do both.

Do I need to know Ayurveda already to enroll?

The training is designed for the Ayurvedic student, meaning students already studying or credentialed in Ayurveda will get the most from it. The chakra-by-chakra structure and the Prakṛti/Vikṛti meditation approach assume Ayurvedic context.

How much does the 200-hour cost?

$2,800 if you pay the deposit by July 15 of the cohort start year, or $3,300 across the year ($500 deposit plus 10 monthly payments of $280). Plus 4 required books.

Is this program Yoga Alliance Registered?

Yes. It is a Yoga Alliance Registered 200 YTT program.
